Biography
Dr Konstantinos (Kostis) Roussos is Lecturer and Director of Research in the School of Health and Social Care at the University of Essex, and Co-Director of the Centre for Ideology and Discourse Analysis. He received his PhD in Government from Essex in 2020. His research draws on poststructuralist discourse theory (Essex School) to explore health, welfare and care politics, social movements, and practices of solidarity and commoning. He is particularly interested in radical democratic and prefigurative approaches to welfare in contexts of crisis, alongside participatory and creative methodologies that engage communities directly. His funded projects span cooperative practices and alternative welfare infrastructures in the UK and internationally, community-based approaches to public health and social care, and social return on investment studies.
